Fé 15/16

The Fermoy U16 team lost out to Charleville in a closely contested U16A Hurling League match in Charleville on Thursday the 29th June.   The U16s were depleted due to a large number of absences during the holiday period.   The match was keenly contested by both sides from start to finish.   The U16s showed signs of rustiness after the exam break and needed to be more clinical with their scoring opportunities.   Jake Carr impressed at full forward.  Ben Twomey and Jack Fox both put in noteworthy performances and Duncan Ekechukwu pressed strongly towards the latter part of the match.   Charleville pulled away in the third quarter and despite intense pressure Fermoy were unable to close the gap losing out on a scoreline of 5-12 to 4-09.  The next U16 match is in the football league away to Duarigle Gaels in Millstreet on the 13th July 2017 at 7.45pm.

The U15s were victorious over Erins Own in Caherlag on Saturday 1st July 2017.   Fermoy put in a strong performance throughout, notwithstanding the absence of a number of players on vacation.  Jake Carr, who started at corner forward before moving to full forward after the break, put in a strong performance and ended the game with 3-08 to his credit.   James Fitzpatrick, Darragh Daly, Luke Cremin, Cian O’Brien, Sean Og Duggan Heffernan and Ben Twomey all impressed in what was a strong overall performance by the entire team.    Fermoy comfortably saw out the match on a score line of 7-13 to 2-11.  Next up for the U15s is the Premier 2 Football league, with a match against St. Finbarrs in Togher on the weekend of the 22nd July.

We will be endeavouring to arrange challenge games for the U15 and U16 squads over the next 2 weeks and text notifications will be sent out.
